This scannography photograph captures my childhood shorts from a set, kept inside my memory box. A project based on two memory boxes which have been built up over 18 years. I collect souvenirs that are then gathered into my memory boxes, these item take me back to the place just like a photographs do. Because I can’t smell each individual item takes me straight back there visually just like your sense of smell does. My mum started these boxes with the family photographs and baby scans. Once I knew I couldn’t smell it became normal to collect things over the years and hopefully these boxes can be passed down like an inheritance.
These days I can be to picky with what I put in my boxes, is it worth keeping ? Are my future children really going to want my ‘adventure wrist ticket’ ? Does the item look appealing ?..
